Black Identity series

The Black Identity Series is a narrative film project on topics related to Black Identity. Short excerpts from multiple interviews are edited together; conveying an array of perspectives & attitudes. The on-camera interviews are organized in a way that bring clarity to issues. The goal is to get people critically thinking about their identity; to gain a clearer understanding of the context/lens in which Black people navigate society. The process of pin-pointing common themes and sources of oppression helps us understand our identities/culture as black people. It’s healing to develop language/ways of talking about these issues.

The Black Identity Series also exists as public events. We host Film screenings followed by facilitated group discussions. We create safe spaces to talk about race and identity.
